he crowning of the 2023 champions will be broadcast on ITV and STV in the UK, while outside of the UK please visit here for broadcaster details.

Qualifying 1 Heat 1

It was a four-way battle for first off the start line, with NEOM McLaren XE’s Tanner Foust coming out in the lead ahead of No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing’s RJ Anderson. Championship leaders RXR held back from the cars in front in the opening turns, as Johan Kristoffersson stayed out of any potentially race-ending incidents.

From there, though, the Swede began to carve his way up the order. Kristoffersson got ahead of JBXE’s Andreas Bakkerud to take fourth, and soon climbed into the top three positions after diving down the inside of X44 Vida Carbon Racing’s Fraser McConnell to take advantage of the Jamaican running off-line.

Foust continued to head the field as the drivers entered the Switch Zone, with Kristoffersson making a decisive overtake on Anderson to outbrake the American and snatch second ahead of the driver change.

A strong defensive drive throughout her run ensured Hedda Hosås was able to retain the lead and take a first Qualifying Heat victory for NEOM McLaren XE, with RXR close behind in second.

No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing finished in third ahead of X44 Vida Carbon Racing, with Jenson Button’s JBXE rounding out the top five.

Qualifying 1 Heat 2

ASXE needed a flying start to maintain their championship challenge, and Mattias Ekström delivered, surging ahead of Carl Cox Motorsport’s Timo Scheider, with ABT CUPRA XE’s Adrian Tambay and Veloce Racing’s Kevin Hansen in third and fourth.

Hansen was immediately on the move, though, passing Tambay before setting his sights on Scheider for second. An epic wheel-to-wheel battle ensued, with Hansen and Scheider trading bodywork as they battled for position.

The Veloce Racing driver eventually came out on top, diving down the inside of Scheider with a late move over the banking, with a bit of contact between them, to get ahead. There was yet more contact between them as Scheider fought back, with the German having to save a half-spin, but regained control of his ODYSSEY 21 to stay third.

ASXE’s Ekström kept the lead as they headed into the Switch Zone, with team-mate Laia Sanz tasked with fending off Veloce Racing’s Molly Taylor for the final two laps.

The Australian kept up the pressure in second, but Sanz maintained her cool to retain first place. With ASXE remaining ahead to cross the line in first and snatch a crucial point for winning Q1 Heat 2, Taylor dropped back into the clutches of Carl Cox Motorsport’s Lia Block, but the American was unable to get past. ABT CUPRA XE’s Klara Andersson completed the order.

Qualifying 2 Heat 1

Veloce Racing continued their strong starts off the line, with Taylor charging into the lead into the first corner. Slotting into second was No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing’s Amanda Sorensen, with Hosås behind in third for NEOM Mclaren XE.

The front three ran in this order for the entirety of their stint, with ABT CUPRA XE’s Klara Andersson and JBXE’s Tamara Molinaro running in fourth and fifth, respectively.

Taylor’s race management ensured that the Veloce Racing car remained around 3 seconds clear of Sorensen, but the American hit the brakes late into the Switch Zone to take away Veloce Racing’s advantage heading into the final two laps.

Sorensen’s team-mate Anderson launched his ENOWA Hypderdrive at the Switch Zone exit in an attempt to catch out Hansen, but the manoeuvre fell short. Hansen maintained the lead to take the Heat win and a spot in the Grand Final for Veloce Racing, as the team pushes to keep their top three spot in the championship standings.

Crossing the line in second were No. 99 GMC HUMMER EV Chip Ganassi Racing, who just miss out on a spot in the Grand Final with a slower Continental Traction Challenge time than X44 Vida Carbon Racing. Third in the Heat were NEOM McLaren XE who, after their Heat win in Q1, progress to their second Grand Final this weekend.

Fourth-place in the race for ABT CUPRA XE and fifth for JBXE sees both teams heading into the last Redemption Race of Season 3.

Qualifying 2 Heat 2

The stakes were high as title contenders ASXE and RXR lining up on the start line of Q2 H2. All four teams used their ENOWA Hyperdrive in pursuit of the early lead, and it was ASXE’s Sanz who reached the front of the pack.

X44’s Gutiérrez was late on the brakes to take second place ahead of RXR’s Åhlin-Kottulinsky, with the Swede coming under pressure from Carl Cox Motorsport’s Lia Block in fourth.

Åhlin-Kottulinsky closed in on Gutiérrez, gaining some breathing room in the process as the three teams approached the Switch Zone. With the chasing pack slowing down at the last possible moment, X44’s Gutiérrez managed to draw level with ASXE’s Sanz at the front.

Behind the tussling pair, Block made contact with the back of the RXR ODYSSEY 21 as they entered the Switch Zone.

X44’s Fraser McConnell used his ENOWA Hyperdrive at the pit exit, a strategy which paid off as the ASXE team decided to hold onto the extra boost for later in the race. Unable to keep up with the Jamaican down the straight, Ekström slotted into second place.

The teams cross the line in this order, with RXR’s Kristoffersson unable to close in on the leading pair. X44, ASXE and RXR all progress into the Grand Final, with fourth-placed Carl Cox Motorsport fighting it out in the Redemption Race.
