Extreme E and Dubai Sports agree broadcast partnership
Extreme E, the pioneering electric SUV off-road racing series, has agreed a broadcast partnership with Dubai Sports that will see the all-new championship screened live across the United Arab Emirates, Middle East and North Africa in Season 1.
Viewers will be there every step of the way as world-class drivers and teams set about competing across the series’ five-race odyssey to some of the most remarkable, remote regions on the planet – with the locations for the inaugural campaign, starting January 2021, recently confirmed:
Provisional Extreme E Season 1 (2021) calendar:
23-24 January: Lac Rose, Dakar, Senegal
5-6 March: Al-‘Ula, Saudi Arabia
14-15 May: Kali Gandaki Valley, Mustang District, Nepal
28-29 August: Kangerlussuaq, Greenland

Extreme E will highlight the impact climate change and human influences have had and will continue to have on the severely damaged environments in which it will race, whilst raising awareness, driving sustainability and inspiring action.
Ali Russell, Chief Marketing Officer at Extreme E, said: “I’m delighted to have secured this partnership with Dubai Sports, which ensures we will reach a potential audience numbering tens of millions of people hungry for top-class motor racing across regions with a growing interest in the sport as a whole.
“With Extreme E, we’re aiming for accessibility. Opening the championship up to as many people in as many markets as we can is key.
“We want to spread the message and share the championship’s ultimate goal of driving awareness of climate change worldwide, whilst promoting workable, sustainable solutions alongside what will undoubtedly be unmissable racing drama between the best drivers and teams around.
“To that end, we’re currently in discussion with a large number of leading broadcasters across all territories, as we look to add to what is already a strong, growing portfolio of agreements signed in recent weeks and months.”
Dubai Sports is the latest TV deal to be announced by Extreme E, with the championship having announced deals with FOX Sports (United States, Canada and the Caribbean), FOX Sports Asia (Southeast Asia), Mediaset (Italy), Sony India (Indian subcontinent), TVNZ (New Zealand), RTM (Malaysia) and BTRC (Belarus).
Further sporting and partnership announcements will follow in the coming weeks as Extreme E builds towards its January 2021 start-date.
