Extreme E enlists MDD Europe as medical supplier

Extreme E, the new electric off-road racing series, has confirmed MDD Europe Ltd as its on-event medical service. As part of this MDD will be responsible for providing an on-track extrication and medical team, paddock medical team and medical training to competing teams.

As with all motorsport, safety is paramount. This is why Extreme E has enlisted the help of leading motorsport medical specialists MDD, which is also the official medical supplier to the FIA, and long standing on-track rescue team to FIA Formula E, supplier to Moto E and Medical Partner to the ETCR Series, amongst others.

Alejandro Agag, Founder and CEO, Extreme E, said: “Extreme E takes the safety of its team very seriously and it is imperative the right medical support is available on-site should it be required. The series is set to go racing early next year and we are now confirming all the organisations that will support us in delivering safe and exciting racing. A very warm welcome to the Extreme E family MDD.”

MDD has worked in the motorsport industry for over 20 years, developing medical products and techniques, which transfer into high risk areas such as the track. It aims to continue to improve safety, clinical excellence and the quality of equipment and services available to the motorsport industry.

John Trigell, Director of Operations at MDD Europe, said: “We are proud to be working with Extreme E on this new exciting, innovative and cutting edge Motorsport series, providing the best in professional medical, e-safety and on-track rescue services to the championship and teams and look forward to a successful collaboration together.”

Extreme E will visit five remote locations in 2021 to showcase the capabilities of electric mobility in some of the world’s toughest environments. This coupled with the mission to shine a spotlight on the environmental crisis, and provide a world-leading platform for gender equality, makes Extreme E much more than a motorsport championship.
