MBC to broadcast Extreme E and Extreme H across the Middle East and North Africa

Riyadh, 3 October, 2025: Extreme E and Extreme H today announced a landmark broadcast partnership with MBC Group, the largest media company in the Middle East and North Africa.

The action begins in Qiddiya City, Saudi Arabia, the world’s first city built entirely for play, where entertainment, sport and culture converge, with Extreme E’s ‘Final Lap’ on 4 to 5 October 2025, a celebratory farewell to electric racing, followed by the launch of the inaugural FIA Extreme H World Cup on 9 to 11 October 2025.

Hosting the opening round of the world’s first hydrogen-powered motorsport championship in the Kingdom is a significant milestone, and having a Saudi-based broadcaster like MBC ensures that national and regional fans can follow every moment of the action.

The agreement ensures that all Extreme E and FIA Extreme H World Cup programming – including live race coverage, highlights, preview shows and behind-the-scenes features – will be broadcast across the MENA region in English, Arabic and Fasi, reaching millions of households and making sustainable motorsport accessible to a truly diverse audience.

The presence of Jameel Motorsport, a Saudi Arabian-owned team competing in Extreme H, further deepens the local connection and underlines the importance of this broadcast partnership in building excitement and national pride around the championship’s debut.

Ali Russell, Managing Director of Extreme E and Extreme H, said: “MBC is a powerhouse broadcaster in the region and Saudi Arabia we are delighted to partner with them for the historic Final Lap of Extreme E, and the inaugural event for the FIA Extreme H World Cup. “This partnership ensures fans across the Middle East and North Africa can enjoy every moment of our championships in their own language, while highlighting Saudi Arabia’s central role in shaping the future of sustainable motorsport.”

Ashraf Younis, Director of MBC3 and MBC Action said: “Extreme E and Extreme H are unique, forward-looking sports properties that align perfectly with our vision to bring innovative, world-class entertainment to our audiences. With the opening round of Extreme H taking place right here in Saudi Arabia, and a Saudi team competing on the grid, this is a proud moment for our region. We are excited to showcase these thrilling championships and introduce fans across the MENA region to the future of sustainable motorsport.”

This agreement is part of Extreme H’s broader strategy to grow its broadcast footprint worldwide as it prepares to make history as the first FIA-sanctioned hydrogen racing World Cup.

The races will take place with the dramatic backdrop of the Tuwaiq Mountains, close to the site which is currently undergoing transformation to become a world-leading motorsport venue.

Further details on the series and event schedule will be shared in the coming days.
