Extreme H Wins Gold at 2025 Global Good Awards

London, 24 September 2025: Extreme H has been awarded the Gold award in the Climate for Good category at the 2025 Global Good Awards, recognising its pioneering use of hydrogen in motorsport.

Founded in 2015 by sustainability advocate Karen Sutton, the Global Good Awards celebrate organisations across the world that are setting new benchmarks in sustainability and ethical leadership. The Climate for Good Award highlights those leading the way with scalable solutions to tackle the climate crisis.

Extreme H’s award-winning entry was based on its successful delivery of hydrogen-powered innovation through its predecessor series, Extreme E. At the 2024 Hydro X Prix in Scotland, 80% of the race site was powered by its hydrogen fuel cell system, a major milestone on the journey to creating the world’s first hydrogen-powered motorsport.

This pioneering achievement, demonstrates the real-world potential of hydrogen to deliver clean, scalable energy in high-demand environments.

Ali Russell, Managing Director of Extreme H, said: “We are absolutely delighted to win the Gold Climate for Good Award. This recognition is a testament to the power of collaboration between sport and science to accelerate the adoption of clean energy solutions. Our milestone in Scotland proved what hydrogen can achieve, and we’re excited to keep building momentum as Extreme H enters a new era for motorsport and sustainability.”

The Gold award places Extreme H alongside global leaders driving meaningful climate action and underlines the championship’s role as a testbed for innovation with impact.
