Extreme H Celebrates Latest Edition of its Hydrogen Hub with Siemens

London, 4 July 2025: Extreme H, the world’s first hydrogen-powered motorsport series, has hosted the second edition of its Hydrogen Hub, Siemens Experience Center, THE IMPULSE, in Amberg. The invite-only event gathered industry leaders, technical experts and innovators from across the energy, mobility, and automotive sectors for a day of insight and collaborative progress.

Created to accelerate innovation and foster open dialogue, the Hydrogen Hub is designed to break down barriers and unite the wider hydrogen ecosystem, from policymakers and engineers to startups and multinational corporations. Speakers at the second edition included representatives from Siemens, the Monaco Hydrogen Alliance, EY, Fortescue Zero, PRF, the International Hydrogen Fuel Cell Association (IHFCA), and the Safe Driver Group, reflecting the broad industry reach of the event.

Rob Atkinson, Head of Hydrogen, Lead Hydrogen, Siemens Digital Industries Factory Automation, said: “Extreme H is a powerful demonstration of what happens when cutting-edge motorsport meets sustainable innovation. With hydrogen-powered cars preparing to take to the track this year, Extreme H is bringing the future of clean mobility to life, and Siemens is proud to be an enabling partner in that journey.

“Siemens was very happy to host the latest chapter of Extreme H’s Hydrogen Hub and it was brilliant to see so many innovators come together to discuss their various solutions. As we accelerate the hydrogen transition, our role is to help partners bring factories to life, products to market, and plants online faster and more efficiently.

“Events like the Hydrogen Hub are vital for building momentum, from digital innovation and safety to market insights and advocacy. This is technology with purpose in action, where innovation and sustainability meet at full speed. We’re excited to help shape the next chapter of sustainable motorsport and industrial transformation alongside Extreme H.”

As part of Extreme H’s broader strategy, the Hydrogen Hub plays a critical role in facilitating key dialogue surrounding hydrogen technologies across multiple fronts. These include the fuel cells and battery systems that will power the championship’s first-generation racing chassis, as well as the development of hydrogen infrastructure to support race sites and consumer use, encompassing charging, storage, transportation, management and safety systems.

Ali Russell, Managing Director of Extreme H, commented: “The latest edition of Extreme H’s Hydrogen Hub was a highly valuable opportunity to gather some of the brightest minds in hydrogen all in one room, problem-solving the key issues that will unlock the next stage of decarbonisation. The Hydrogen Hub is about building momentum, forging new collaborations and driving the kind of innovation that sport, industry and the planet urgently need.

“Thank you to Siemens for hosting. It’s fantastic to have such supportive partners on the journey with us and it was impressive to see their facilities as part of the experience.”

Throughout the day, key topics addressed design challenges in hydrogen mobility, the future of refuelling standards, unlocking connectivity between global hydrogen economies, and the evolution of fuel cell technologies. Each session aimed to drive the cross-sector knowledge exchange needed to scale hydrogen innovation and support global decarbonisation efforts.

Extreme H continues to position sport as a catalyst for energy transition positive environmental impact, using its platform to test and develop cutting-edge hydrogen technology in some of the world’s most remote and challenging environments. The Hydrogen Hub is a key mechanism of that ambition, ensuring that the series remains a leader in the transition to a cleaner, hydrogen-powered future.
